Aloha Initiative was a first Humanitarian Aid project for victims of 3/11/11 triple disaster.
Keith Regan and Lynn Araki-Regan (above with Kuniyoshi Yoshida) and their friends, Keith Powers and Michiko-Ishida Powers founded the program. The people of Maui and Oahu opened their hearts and their homes to over 80 visitors.     Photo was taken at Maui airport when the Japanese visitors were returning home.

When I first decided to volunteer a "humanitarian aid" trip to N. E. Japan, I searched corporate entities to help sponsor it.  I thought that because they do business in the Tohoku area, they might be interested in helping the people there in a very personal way (see HOME page).  The only company to come forward was JAL, which offered a discounted ticket on a flight from Honolulu to Tokyo. . I was grateful to receive this and am acknowledging  JAL's generosity here.

Eventually, however, when no one else expressed interest, I decided to use my airline miles on another carrier and  money that I had saved.

In order to be able to accomplish what I wished to do--to offer one-on-one Energy healing work to ease physical, mental and emotional pain, and introduce and guide people in some gentle, easy, relaxing methods of Wisdom Healing Qigong ("kikou" in Japanese),  I needed a translator and places in which to be able to provide these services. A very dear friend--himself a refugee of March 11 2011, who came to Maui through the Aloha Initiative--offered to assist with both.  Big THANK YOU to Yoshida Kuniyoshi for his gracious support.

As with most business activities in Japan, a formal introduction is almost mandatory. Keith Reagan, Maui County's managing director, who has known me for a number of years, is providing a letter of introduction which can be shared with the head-people of the various relocation centers to help facilitate my mission. . Thank you Keith!

*Keith, with his wife, Lynn Araki- Regan, we're instrumental in organizing the Aloha Initiative (www. aloha initiative.com) a home stay program providing rest and relaxation for victims of the triple disaster in July of 2011. Keith flew to Tohoku only a few weeks after the "event" to personally invite visitors.  This compassionate outpouring, inspired Maui and Oahu communities which brought unmeasurable healing to those who came to Hawaii.

This is the spirit, the "mana" and "Aloha"that I wish to carry with me to Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures in October.
